With decades of experience in the ice cream, frozen food and distribution business, the TransCold Distribution executive team has the know how to get the job done right.
But what sets them apart most are qualities that are slightly unusual - a whimsical love for ice cream, and a strong belief in keeping TransCold relational and family centric.
John Coughlan, President & CEO
John loves ice cream, plain and simple. His history with the cold stuff goes back many years, to when he operated a Dickie Dee Ice Cream vending business. Seeing the friendly ice cream tricycles putting smiles on the faces of kids on a hot summer day was one of the things John loved about the business.
Years later, John served with excellence as the Distribution Manager for Western Canada for Unilever. In 2002, when Unilever made the decision to contract it's distribution services, they turned to John to handle distribution for Western Canada, forming TransCold Distribution.
Since forming TransCold, John hasn't sat still. Rapidly expanding throughout Western Canada and into the United States, John has kept TransCold moving onwards and upwards. Since launching in 2002, TransCold has grown by over 1500%.
However, even after expanding into several countries and growing rapidly, if you asked John today what motivates him, it's still his love for the fun and simple joy of ice cream.
Melissa Coughlan, Director of Sales and Operations
Melissa's entrepreneurial spirit and love for ice cream were in full force even at a young age. While still in high school, Melissa operated a Dickee Dees ice cream franchise.
After excelling as an Outside Sales Rep with Good Humor Breyers Ice Cream, Melissa made the move to TransCold. Her leadership excellence led to a move to the Director of Sales and Operations at TransCold.
As with most at TransCold, Melissa is a die hard ice cream fanatic.
