Chapman's Ice Cream

Founded by David and Penny Chapman in 1973, Chapman's Ice Cream is a family owned company producing incredible ice cream. David and Penny Chapman set out to inspire the kid in all of us, and did it well - now, as Canada's largest independent ice cream maker, they inspire people of all ages, all over the world. Aside from offering the highest quality ice cream, Chapman's has continually produced award winning flavours, and ice cream products for those with health concerns.

 

Chapman's has proven to be highly adaptable both by offering an always changing variety of fantastic flavours and products, but also by producing award winning products for those with special dietary needs.

 

The tight knit family atmosphere of Chapman's was seen in full force when disaster struck on September 4th, 2009. A fire destroyed most of the Chapman's plant, halting operations of the largest employer in Markdale, ON. David and Penny did something very unusual - they committed to providing wages to all 350 employees during the rebuilding effort.

 

Pulling together to rebuild their business, Chapman's quickly began producing ice cream at temporary plants. With little interruption in their services, Chapman's seems to have emerged from the fire stronger than before.
